Polish farmers continue blockade of the Ukrainian border: 2200 trucks are waiting in lines

Polish farmers continue to block six checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, with 2,200 trucks in line. The protesters are mostly blocking the movement of trucks going from Ukraine to Poland. Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said this during a telethon.

"Unfortunately, the blocking of traffic for trucks by Polish farmers continues. The number of destinations remains the same - 6. On the Ukrainian side, we are talking about the checkpoints Yagodyn, Ustyluh, Uhryniv, Rava-Ruska, Shehyni and Krakowiec. In total, as of this morning, about 2,200 trucks are waiting in queues to cross into Ukraine at all these checkpoints in Poland," he said.

According to the SBGS spokesperson, the longest queues are opposite Krakowiec, Rava-Ruska and Yagodyn.

"Speaking of the latter, the smallest number of trucks cross the border here. Over the past day, about 50 trucks crossed into Ukraine. In recent days, Polish farmers have not let through a single truck heading from Ukraine to Poland in this direction. And the actual border crossing rates from Ukraine to Poland remain zero," added Demchenko.

According to him, the border crossing rates remain critically low at the Shehyni checkpoint, with only 70 trucks crossing the border there over the past day.

"In general, Polish farmers let several trucks go from and to Poland through each direction in an hour. But most of all, they block traffic for trucks heading from Ukraine to the territory of this country," the spokesman stated.
