France and Poland demand restrictions on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products, which threatens Ukraine's duty-free access to the EU market

France has joined Poland in demanding additional restrictions on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products, jeopardizing negotiations to extend Ukraine's duty-free access to the EU market for another year. This was reported by Politico, citing three European diplomats.

French President Emmanuel Macron and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk discussed the issue at the Weimar Triangle summit in Berlin. Their agreements are aimed at smoothing out the differences between the EU countries and the European Parliament on trade with Ukraine.

Diplomats estimate that these restrictions couldlead to a loss of €1.2 billion in trade revenues for Ukraine.

"This is a huge reduction for a country that needs all possible help. The member countries that most demonstratively support Ukraine also cause it the most damage," said one of the diplomats.
