Explosions occurred in Kharkiv: the city is under fire (UPDATED)

Today, March 27, in the afternoon, local residents heard several explosions in Kharkiv. Russians are shelling the city. This was reported by Suspilne Kharkiv on Telegram.

 

 

"The occupiers are striking. Residents of Kharkiv and the region: stay in shelters," wrote the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Synegubov.


The official did not disclose any further details about the incident.

In Kharkiv, as a result of today's Russian shelling, residential buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city were hit. According to the latest reports, the enemy attack resulted in a casualty and many wounded, including children. This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

 

 

It should be noted that at first the city hall was informed about several deaths, but later it was clarified that there was only one victim.


"The strike hit a residential neighborhood in Kharkiv, into apartment buildings. There are dead and wounded," Terekhov said. He added that this Russian strike is another act of bloody terror against Ukrainians."


The RMA clarified that the occupants struck twice in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. Damage to civilian residential infrastructure was recorded.


"The type of weapon is being established. Preliminary: there are victims. Civilian residential infrastructure was damaged," the administration said.


The data is being updated, and the services are inspecting the hit sites, Synegubov added.

Later, the mayor's office clarified that as of now, one person has been killed and six others have been injured, two of them in serious condition.


"Five-story buildings where people lived were heavily damaged. The Institute of Emergency Surgery was also damaged," Terekhov wrote on Telegram.

"One person was killed and at least ten people sustained injuries of varying degrees as a result of today's shelling of Kharkiv. Among the wounded are four children," the head of the administration said.


He added that apartment buildings were damaged.


"The number of victims may increase. The information is being updated. All circumstances are being established. Specialists are working on the ground," wrote Synegubov.


The deceased was a civilian, the head of the RMA said.

Later, the mayor of Kharkiv said that the number of wounded had increased to 12 people.


"There are already 12 wounded. We are going around the apartments in the affected buildings. We are looking for those who need help," the mayor said.
