Putin calls airfields of third countries "legitimate targets" if F-16s take off from them

If American F-16 fighter jets take part in the conflict in Ukraine by taking off from airfields of third countries, these airfields will become a legitimate target for the Russian military. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Of course, if they are used from third-country airfields, they become a legitimate target for us, wherever they are. If they supply F-16s, and they are talking about it, and pilots are being trained, I think you understand this as well as anyone else, it will not change the situation on the battlefield," Putin said.

Putin also reminded that F-16s can carry nuclear weapons.

"We will have to take this into account as well," he said in this regard.

In addition, Putin stated he is not going to fight NATO. He called "complete nonsense" statements that Russia would attack Europe.

"The words about a possible attack on Poland, the Baltics and the Czech Republic are a way to deceive the population of these countries," the Russian president added.
