Iran prepares to attack Israel within 48 hours - media

The CIA has informed Israel that Iran may attack the country in the coming days. This was reported by Voxnews with reference to Middle Eastern media.

"The destruction of the Iranian consulate in Syria, which killed dozens of high-ranking Iranian officials and generals, risks escalating into a major war in the region. This is reported by some media in the Middle East, according to which the American CIA intelligence service warned Israel to expect a military response from Iran within 48 hours," the article says.

It is alleged that Iran is planning a combined attack with a "rain" of drones and missiles from its bases on strategic locations in Israel.

Meanwhile, The Times of Israel writes that the Israeli Defense Forces has begun conscripting air defense reservists due to fears of retaliation for a strike on Iran's mission in Syria.

"The move follows Iran's threats to retaliate against Israel's alleged assassination of Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior IRGC official in Syria, along with his deputy, five other IRGC officers and at least one Hezbollah member," the publication says.

Israel is reportedly on high alert for a potential Iranian response to a strike in Syria. It is noted that this strike will require a more significant response from the IDF.

As a reminder, a few days ago, Israel struck the Iranian consulate in Syria. The strike on Damascus killed, in particular, the commander of the Al-Quds unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi.

Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari told reporters that he would not comment on the strike. At the same time, he emphasized that the target was "not a consulate or an embassy," but a military building of the Quds Force disguised as a civilian building in Damascus.
