Kuleba: Ukraine is preparing a new policy for Ukrainian refugees abroad

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said that the ministry is preparing a new policy on Ukrainian refugees abroad. He said this at the Forum of Wartime Diplomacy.

"After the war, it became obvious that if we do not change our policy towards Ukrainians abroad, assimilation will happen extremely quickly. I do not belong to those who believe that most Ukrainians who left will return. I am one of those who believe that we need to work with them to keep them Ukrainians," Kuleba said.

He also emphasized that a new comprehensive policy is important with regard to Ukrainians abroad.

"And here, from multiple citizenship, which has already turned into a crusade for multiple citizenship, but I am sure that we will win this battle, to the digitalization of consular services, more effective funding for communities and various programs with them, we need a new comprehensive policy on Ukrainians abroad," Kuleba said.

He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the instructions of President Volodymyr Zelensky, has prepared a strategy that will be presented and discussed with other authorities and presented personally to the president.

"The President set such a task, we have prepared studies - doctrinal, conceptual - program, a strategy, we will discuss it with other authorities, because it is a complex task," Kuleba emphasized.
