Due to the cold weather, electricity consumption is increasing in Ukraine: citizens are urged to save electricity

Due to the cold and cloudy weather, electricity consumption is increasing rapidly in most regions of Ukraine. This was stated by Ukrenergo.

According to the company, the level of usage increased by 6.5% during the day.

"In order to cover such an increase, we need to additionally turn on three or four units at thermal power plants. But now there is no such possibility - the TPP is one of the main targets of Russian missile strikes," the statement said.

Energy engineers reported that on April 16, peak consumption was recorded around 21.00. It was almost 2% higher than the maximum consumption on Monday, April 15.

Citizens were urged to save light and limit the use of powerful electrical appliances from 19.00 to 22.00.
