Electricity shortage in Ukraine: blackouts are possible for business and industry

Today, April 19, there is a shortage of electricity in the power system. There may be power outages for business and industry, Ukrenergo reports.

"In the morning, the Dispatch Center attracts emergency assistance from the power systems of European countries. From 18:00 to 22:00, power limitation schedules may be applied to business and industry. These measures will not affect critical infrastructure facilities and defense companies," the statement said.

It is noted that due to the hostilities, there are power outages in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv regions, and more than 20 settlements in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava and Sumy regions are without power due to bad weather.

In particular, about 2,700 household consumers in Dnipropetrovsk region were cut off from power after a morning missile strike. Repair crews are working to restore power supply.

Also, consumption restrictions for industrial consumers in Kryvyi Rih district remain in place around the clock. In the morning, consumption restrictions are in place for household consumers in Kharkiv region. About 203 thousand consumers are without power.

"We ask all consumers to consume electricity sparingly. And the industry is asked to maximize electricity imports and use alternative power sources, if available," the statement said.
