Lithuania denies former ally of Yanukovych a residence in the country

The Lithuanian authorities have revoked the residence permit of the former head of the State Administration of Affairs, Andriy Kravets, who is known as an ally of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. This is stated in the publication Delfi.

Lithuanian special services pointed to the involvement of Kravets and his wife in corruption schemes related to the embezzlement of the Ukrainian budget.

After the 2014 Maidan, Kravets left Ukraine. He and his family were granted a residence permit in Lithuania, where they lived for almost 10 years and did business. However, according to Lithuanian law enforcement agencies, he had ties to Yanukovych's entourage, which posed a threat to the country's national security.

Therefore, the Lithuanian Department of Migration decided not to extend the temporary residence permit for Kravets and his family in order to protect national interests.
