Ukraine is preparing a set of measures to protect F-16 fighters when they arrive in the country. To avoid damage to the equipment by Russian troops, the use of aircraft will be dispersed at different airfields. This was stated by Illia Yevlash, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, during the telethon.

“This is a huge amount of money if we are talking about digging underground, storage facilities, bunkers. This also takes time. That is why we are now developing other methods of placing them. We understand that this will be a dispersed use on different types of runways, airfields, where it will be difficult for the enemy to find them,” Yevlash said.

He added that “a different set of methods will be used to mislead the enemy and at the same time effectively use” the aircraft. 

“There are already a number of developments and ideas on how to deploy F-16s in Ukraine,” Yevlash summarized.

He did not name specific ways.

The planes are expected to arrive in Ukraine this year.
