Spokesman of the Defense Forces of the South talked about the situation on the island of Nestryga: Russians intensified assaults

Today, on April 30, Russians are storming the island of Nestryga, which Ukrainian forces have recently taken control of. This was reported by Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Defense Forces of the South, during a telethon.

"Today they made two assaults on Nestryga in the morning, both of them failed. They retreated with losses without success. This is the last island from Veletynske (near the settlements of Veletynske and Kyzomys). In fact, it is the last island before the river mouth. In fact, it is the last island on the right bank of these islands in the area," the speaker said.

Pletenchuk said that "it is important to close this territory from possible saboteurs or possible enemy exits."

It is worth noting that earlier the liberation of the island was reported by the head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Later, this statement was criticized by the Ukrainian analytical public Deep State. They believe that the statement about the liberation of the island was premature.

"The one who reported on the successes in that area did a disaster, because the operation was not completed, and in the morning massive shelling of the island and attempts by the landing force to occupy part of it began," Deep State reported.

They stated that the situation on the island had worsened and called for "punishment of 'chiefs of staff' who are in a hurry to serve and put human lives below their career ambitions."

Speaker Pletenchuk also spoke about the situation in the village of Krynky.

"The situation there remains difficult. First of all, it is difficult because the marines are actually holding on autonomously, since there is the Dnipro River between us and, of course, the logistics there are very complicated. As well as rotation, evacuation, and other issues. However, they continue to hold their positions, despite the enemy's superior numbers," the Defense Forces of the South noted.
