As of December 28, five more cases of infection with the Omicron strain of coronavirus were detected in Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

Thus, the first case of Omicron was recorded in Ukraine on December 18. Thus, a new strain of coronavirus was detected in six people in the country. Two residents of Kiev, two people from the Kiev region, as well as one each in Lviv and Dnipro were sick.

Among the sick are two women and four men. Three people returned from abroad (were in Germany, Poland and the United Arab Emirates). The first patient suffered from the disease easily and tested negative, the Ministry of Health noted.

An epidemiological investigation of new cases and examination of contacts is underway.
