On February 4, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games began in Beijing. The ceremony takes place at the "Bird's Nest" stadium. The flag of Ukraine will be carried by the Olympic champion in freestyle skiing Alexander Abramenko and the silver medalist of the Junior Olympic Games in figure skating Alexandra Nazarova, wrote in Facebook Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutzeit.

 

The stadium in Beijing has already hosted the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in 2008, according to the official website of the Games. The ceremony will last about 100 minutes. It will be attended by 3,000 participants, 95% of whom are teenagers.

 

The 2022 Olympics will feature 15 disciplines in seven sports. There will be 109 sets of medals, seven more than at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games. New competitions will be held in bobsleigh, short track, freestyle, ski jumping and snowboarding.
