Citizens of Ukraine will be able to stay in Poland legally for up to 3 years, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported, citing Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
"Ukrainians will be able to legally spend 18 months in Poland. Citizens of Ukraine will be able to safely work in Poland. The period of stay may be extended for another 18 months, in general citizens of Ukraine will be able to stay in Poland for up to 3 years," the State Border Service said in a statement on its Facebook page on Monday.
In addition, Poles who host Ukrainian refugees will receive financial support from the state - about $8.7 a day or about $263 a month. Ukrainians will also have access to public services on a common basis.
It is reported that more than 1 million refugees have already arrived in Poland, most of them women and children, while men defend their land.
