American billionaire Ilon Musk said that the satellite Internet system Starlink, which became available in Ukraine at the beginning of the war, resisted Russian attempts at cyber war, but the aggressor country is increasing its efforts. The entrepreneur wrote this on Twitter.
"So far Starlink has resisted Russian cyber warfare, jamming and hacking attempts, but they are stepping up their efforts," he wrote, accompanying the tweet with a post about a Russian cyber attack on satellite internet in Ukraine.
Russia was behind a large-scale cyberattack on satellite internet in Ukraine, causing tens of thousands of modems to be disabled at the start of the full-scale invasion. EU countries, as well as Britain, the U.S. and Canada have said so, Reuters reports.
The cyber attack on Viasat caused unselectable disruptions in communications in Ukraine and several EU member states.
In two months of war, the SSU neutralized more than 250 powerful cyberattacks and disarmed a dozen botnets.
