France supports that Ukraine should follow the quick procedure for obtaining candidate status for EU membership, said French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna.
"We are inclined for Ukraine to go by the quick procedure. Ukraine has made an application for candidacy for accession. It is a legitimate application. At the end of June, this application will be considered by the heads of state. Already in the coming days, in mid-June, there will be an expert conclusion of the Commission. I do not know yet what is the conclusion, but we are all working to ensure that there is unanimity among the EU member states and on the basis of all the criteria and clear conditions this application was accepted according to the conclusion of the European Commission," Colonna said at a press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in Kyiv on Monday.
