About 34 cases of COVID-19 deaths were recorded in Ukraine last week. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Health - Chief State Sanitary Doctor Igor Kuzin during a briefing at the Mediacenter.
"About 1,600 cases of COVID-19 were registered last week... Most of the medical workers continue to get sick. Fatal cases are also being reported, almost 34 COVID-19 deaths were reported last week alone, including one child. "Despite the fact that our predominant circulating strain is Omicron, so far we have not recorded anything unusual specifically in the strains of the virus, but still in unvaccinated people with comorbid chronic diseases, COVID-19 can cause a severe course," said Kuzin.
Monitoring of the strains circulating in the country continues, he said.
The sanitary doctor added that mobile medical teams, working under the aegis of international organizations and transmitting all information about the development and spread of diseases, are used in the frontline territories where health facilities have been destroyed.
