The chief diplomat of the EU, Josep Borrell, said that the European Union will not recognize Russian passports issued to citizens of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

 

 Borrell announced the relevant decision at a press conference after an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Prague.

 

 "We came to a decision that passports issued by the Russian authorities in the occupied territories of Ukraine will not be recognized," he said.
