Latvia provided military aid to Ukraine for 1% of GDP

The amount of aid that Latvia transferred to Ukraine during the full-scale war has already reached 1% of the country's GDP.

Minister of Defense Inara Murniece announced this.

"The Ukrainian front is the line of defense of Latvia. Latvia's military aid to Ukraine has already reached 1% of GDP. Ukraine will win," she wrote.

As Delfi reports, the annual debate on foreign policy is taking place in the Seimas. The dominant topic of discussion was the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine and the risks it creates; officials stressed that Latvia will continue to support Ukraine, that Russia is now the biggest security threat and must be held accountable for crimes committed in Ukraine.

We will remind you that during her visit to Kyiv in mid-January, Inara Murniece announced a new aid package, which will include Stinger air defense systems, helicopters, machine guns with ammunition and drones.
