British Prime Minister: The war in Ukraine will end at the negotiating table, but now is not the time for them

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that the war in Ukraine will end at the negotiating table, but now Kyiv needs support to create a strong position to participate in them.

He said this during a trip to Paris, The Guardian reports.

Sunak said that he supports President Volodymyr Zelenskyi so that he is in "the best situation to conduct these negotiations."

The British prime minister noted that now is not the time for peace talks and confirmed his readiness to provide additional support to Ukraine to ensure its advantage on the battlefield.

"Of course it will end, like all conflicts, at the negotiating table, but that's a decision for Ukraine to make. And what we need to do is put them in the best possible situation to have those negotiations at the right time that makes sense for them." - said Sunak.

"But now the priority must be to give them the resources, training and support they need to move forward and create an advantage on the battlefield," he added.
