"Evil joke": the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke out against Russia's chairmanship of the UN Security Council

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has been opposing Russia's chairmanship of the UN Security Council since April. Because the world can't be safe after that.

This was reported on the Twitter page of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba.

"Russia's chairmanship of the UN Security Council on April 1 is an evil joke. Russia has usurped its seat; it is waging a colonial war; its leader is a war criminal wanted by the ICC for child abduction. The world cannot be a safe place with Russia in the UN Security Council," he wrote he.

We will remind that from April 1, Russia can begin to preside over the UN Security Council. This means that during the month, Russian representatives will have the right to moderate the organization's work and represent it in other UN structures.

As previously reported, Ukraine is holding consultations with permanent members of the Security Council in order to prevent Russia from presiding.

It should be noted that the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhii Kyslytsia, also sharply reacted to the possibility of the Russian Federation's presidency. He noted that in this case, "it will be the saddest day in the history of the UN if justice does not prevail."
