US President Joe Biden informed the US Congress of extending for one year the validity of the resolution, which prohibits vessels connected to Russia from entering American ports.
This is stated in the message of the White House on April 18.
"Has sent a notice in the Federal Register for publication that the state of emergency declared by Proclamation 10371 of April 21, 2022 with respect to the Russian Federation and the emergency powers related to the regulation of anchorage and movement of Russian-related vessels into ports of the United States , continues to apply after April 21, 2023," the message reads.
The ban, which Biden extended, will remain in effect for another year.
