The German government is preparing an announcement on the transfer of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. Berlin is actively discussing the delivery with the United States, T-online reports. According to party sources, the German Air Force has also approved the transfer of Taurus missiles.
Last week, the Chancellor's office received a presentation from the Ministry of Defense detailing the key aspects of the Taurus: availability in the Bundeswehr, risks, and combat effectiveness.
Such a move could lead to a dual supply of Taurus cruise missiles and American ATACMS missiles. According to several social democrats, a coordinated approach, especially with the participation of the United States, is considered a prerequisite for Chancellor Olaf Scholz's approval of new arms supplies to Ukraine.
It should be noted that today the Air Force expressed hope that Germany will soon deliver Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
