Ukraine adds PepsiCo and Mars to list of war sponsors

According to information provided by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC), Ukraine has added two major players in the food industry, PepsiCo and Mars, to the list of international sponsors of war because of their activities in the Russian Federation.


Despite statements about reducing their business in Russia and suspending advertising activities, these corporations have not completely left the Russian market.


PepsiCo, known as a manufacturer of various food products under many brands, including Chester's, Chipsy, Lay's, Mirinda, Pasta Roni, Pepsi, Propel, Sandora, 7up, Simba, Snack a Jacks, Sonric's, Tropicana, "Agusha", "Chudo", "Slovyanochka", "Sadochok", "Sandorik", "Mashenka" and many others, ranks fourth in terms of net profit among beverage and food producers in the Russian market. In the first year of the war, PepsiCo's net profit in Russia increased by 333% to $525 million.


Mars, which specializes in food products, including chocolate bars and pet food, also continues to operate in the Russian market. Among its well-known brands are Mars, Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, Bounty, M&M, Whiskas, Pedigree, Uncle Ben's, and Wrigley. In the first year of the war, the company reported a 59% increase in net profit in Russia, reaching $377 million.
