Zelenska met with Google representatives: asked to de-Russify the search engine

First Lady Olena Zelenska met with Google representatives, the press service of the Presidential Office reports.

During the meeting, several demands were voiced by the Ukrainian authorities. The first is that Crimea should be displayed on Google Maps as the territory of Ukraine for all users. Currently, Crimea is marked as Russian territory for Russians, and as disputed territory for Europeans.

The next requirement is to de-Russify Google search results and YouTube recommendations.

The Ukrainian authorities would also like to change the automatic display of Russian-language content to Ukrainian-language for users of Ukrainian IP addresses. Among the demands is the disconnection of Ukraine from its geographical affiliation with the CIS.
