German concern Rheinmetall has increased the price of 155-millimeter ammunition by one and a half times since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was reported by Welt.


"Confidential documents show how expensive Rheinmetall sells artillery shells for Ukraine, paid for by the federal government. Since the start of Russia's large-scale attack on Ukraine, ammunition prices have increased significantly - and may soon rise even more," the German publication writes. 


According to the contract obtained by the journalists, before the war, ammunition cost about 2,000 euros per unit, and now it costs 3,600.
