Reagent leakage at ZNPP Unit 5 continues due to occupants' actions - Energoatom

At the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant seized by the Russian invaders, the leakage of reagents from the first circuit to the other continues at Unit 5 as a result of the actions of the invaders. This was reported by the State Enterprise National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom.

The reason for this was an incident when the Russian personnel transferred this power unit of ZNPP to the "hot" state, which is a violation of the operating rules.

"Despite the existing violations, the occupation leadership is in no hurry to transfer the unit to a "cold shutdown" state, using the steam generated by Unit 5 for heating and meeting the plant's own needs," the publication says.

The state-owned enterprise notes that due to the actions of the head of the chemical shop shift of Russian Rosatom personnel, who lost control over the saturation of special water treatment filters, water from one circuit with a boric acid solution gets into the deaerator of the engine room, and from there again to the steam generators.
