On November 20, the Amirani Cinema in Tbilisi hosted a screening of the Ukrainian documentary film "Forged by Fear", dedicated to World Children's Day. The film, which tells the story of the war through the eyes of children in Ukraine, evoked deep emotions among the audience, revealing the tragedy of children facing Russian aggression.
At the opening of the screening, Oleksandr Shulga, Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, emphasized that children are the main victims of war. According to the "Children of War" portal, 19,546 children have been deported or forcibly displaced by Russia, and 387 young Ukrainians have been returned. Shulga cited UN data, according to which two children are killed and four are injured every day in Ukraine, including from mines left by Russian troops.
Shulga emphasized the importance of fighting for a future free from fear and war, especially in the interests of children.
"No child should wake up at night to sirens and explosions. No child should lose loved ones, homes, childhood and life. It is for the sake of children that we must fight every day. It is for them that we are building a different future, in which there is no place for Russian aggression on Ukrainian soil," said Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia.
He also expressed his gratitude to Front News-Georgia and Raul Kiria for organizing the screening, considering it an important step towards drawing attention to the problems of children in the context of war in Ukraine.
