There is progress in consideration of the US aid package for Ukraine, - Ukrainian Ambassador to the USA

The US Congress is continuing discussions on passing a new aid package for Ukraine, and there has already been great progress. Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Oksana Markarova said during the opening of "Ukraine House" in Davos.

According to her, Ukraine is at a decisive stage of the war, as the situation at the front remains unchanged, and US aid has decreased since the autumn of 2023.

"Iran, North Korea, Russia, and Hamas have shown that they can make quick decisions and commit their horrific war crimes. Now the question for democratic countries is whether we can make quick decisions," Markarova said.

The ambassador noted that both parties in the US Congress support aid to Ukraine, but discussions are ongoing.

"We still have strong bipartisan support, despite these very difficult discussions, despite the fact that discussions are ongoing. Despite the fact that we could not see the adoption of the aid package before Christmas, the discussions continue and we see progress," she added.

Markarova also called on American lawmakers to speed up the adoption of a decision and provide assistance to Ukraine.

"We need not only to fight at the front, but also to work in the rear. Our budget must work. We need to make a decision as soon as possible, to transfer weapons and money to Ukraine. This is the biggest challenge today," the Ambassador emphasized.
