Bulgaria extends temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until March 2025

The Bulgarian government has extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until March 2025, Novinite reports.


"In accordance with the decision of the European Commission, the Council of Ministers announced the extension of temporary protection for displaced Ukrainians in Bulgaria. The extension, which comes into force on March 4, 2024, is for a year and reflects a continued commitment to support refugees fleeing the conflict in Ukraine," the report says.


The publication notes that the decision was made in connection with the European Commission's decree on the extension of the Temporary Protection Directive, which emphasizes collective efforts to address the humanitarian problems caused by the crisis.
