EU announces two tranches of financial assistance for Ukraine worth EUR 6 billion: when to expect it

In March, Ukraine will receive financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of 4.5 billion euros, and in April - another 1.5 billion euros. The money is provided under the Ukraine Facility program. This was announced by Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis at a press conference with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.


He said that the European Union is finalizing the Ukraine Facility mechanism, under which Ukraine has been promised €50 billion by 2027.


"The first tranche of this assistance in the amount of 4.5 billion euros will be arrive in March, and it will be followed shortly afterwards, in April, by 1.5 billion euros," the EC Vice President said.
