Canadian Senate approves updated agreement on FTA with Ukraine

The Senate of Canada has passed a bill implementing the modernized Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA) in the third reading. This was reported by Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Yulia Kovaliv.

 

 

The updated agreement, signed on September 22, 2023, during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Ottawa, now awaits the approval of the Governor General of Canada.


The agreement includes chapters on digital trade, financial services, and investment protection, which will be an important tool for Ukrainian companies in the Canadian market and for Canadian companies in rebuilding, the ambassador noted.
