The Zaporizhzhia Regional Council is temporarily dissolved: powers are transferred to the military administration

The Zaporizhzhia Regional Council was temporarily dissolved. Its powers were transferred to the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration. Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, reports this in Telegram.

The Verkhovna Rada, at the President's request, passed a decision on transferring the powers of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council to the Zaporizhzhia RMA for the period of martial law. The decision was supported by 236 people's deputies.

As Fedorov explained, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, in accordance with the Law "On the Legal Regime of Martial Law", the regional council's budgetary powers were transferred to Zaporizhzhia RMA. This made it possible to continue the payment of salaries and social benefits.

He added that the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council had limited self-governing powers: making management decisions regarding about 150 regional enterprises, institutions and establishments, as well as issues of communal property and construction. According to him, the regional council has not adopted a single issue of the region's vital activities in two years.

Fedorov also emphasized that the powers of the regional council will be automatically restored after the end of martial law. The apparatus of the regional council continues to work.
