Former advisor to the President's Office was sent to pre-trial detention in the case of losses of Ukrzaliznytsia

On April 4, the court imposed a pre-trial restraint of detention on former presidential advisor Artem Shilo in the case of causing losses to the state in the amount of UAH 94.8 million during the purchase of transformers for Ukrzaliznytsia.

The court ruled that Shilo should be held in custody until May 31 inclusive or, alternatively, post bail in the amount of UAH 30 million.

The prosecutor's office asked to send the former official to a pre-trial detention center for two months with an alternative bail of UAH 50 million, noting that the suspect could hide from the investigation, including abroad, as well as destroy documents or material evidence, influence witnesses and other suspects.

During the court hearing, Shilo said that he had nothing to do with the contracts of Ukrzaliznytsia, which he is suspected of causing damage to.

It should be noted that  Shilo is involved in three criminal proceedings: on causing losses to the state of UAH 94.8 million during the purchase of transformers for Ukrzaliznytsia, on seizing more than UAH 100 million during the purchase of cables for Ukrzaliznytsia, and on money laundering by purchasing two apartments in Kyiv at reduced prices.
