During the massive shelling of Ukraine on April 11, Russian troops used more than 80 drones and 42 missiles, including "Kinzhals". The main impact of the drones was on the Lviv region. This was reported by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.
"On the night of April 11, 2024, the Russian occupiers launched a combined strike with missiles of various types and attack UAVs. The main direction was Lviv region," he said.
In total, according to him, the enemy used 82 means of air attack:
- 20 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 TS strategic aircraft (launch area - Saratov region of the Russian Federation);
- 6 X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K fighters (launch area - Tambov region of the Russian Federation);
- 12 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles (launched from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation);
- 40 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs (from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region of the Russian Federation, Chauda - Crimea);
- 4 X-59 guided missiles (from the airspace of the occupied Zaporizhzhia region).
Fighter aircraft and anti-aircraft missile troops of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the enemy air attack.
As a result of the air battle, 57 air targets were destroyed:
- 16 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles;
- 39 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs;
- 2 X-59 guided missiles.
