Air raid by occupants and life in liberated communities: what is the situation in Sumy and the region in the morning of March 29

The Trostyanets community suffered the most from Russian aggression in the region.

The evacuation of wounded and homeless people from Trostyanets, which was liberated from the occupants on 26 March, continues. The authorities promise to restore life in the city as soon as possible. The operation of gas stations and trolleybus routes is resumed in Sumy.

Chairman of the Sumy Regional State Administration - head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvitsky reported that on March 28, there was an enemy air raid in the Sumy region - bombs were dropped. They hit the grain elevator, where the grain is stored, and the electrical substation. There is damage and destruction.

"Planes flew over the city of Sumy and there was a threat of bombing even the regional center", - stressed the head of the region.

In Sumy, which suffered from enemy shelling, resumed the work of gas stations and public transport.

On Tuesday, March 29, trolleybus routes № 4 and № 8 will resume their work. A total of 11 trolleybuses of Elektroavtotrans will carry passengers through the city. Working time: from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (time may vary depending on the situation in the city).

According to the mayor Oleksandr Lysenko, Sumy has small local problems with electricity supply. As for the work of schools and kindergartens, education in schools will be distant, and kindergartens will work on duty.

Also, Dmitry Zhivitsky, head of the OVCA, reported that as of March 29, Russian troops still remain only on the territory of Konotop community, where the March 28 shooting took place, resulting in damage to a gasoline tanker.

According to Zhivitsky, in addition to Konotop community, there are hot spots in the region's territory in Burinsk community, where a large number of enemy equipment, weapons, aviation, artillery, and even roadblocks set up by Russian occupants have been recorded.

At the same time, Lebedinskaya, Akhtyrshchyna, Sumy district, Trostyanetskaya, Krasnopolskaya and Boromlyanskaya communities have now been liberated from the occupants and are trying to restore life as quickly as possible.

There were 8 days of fierce fighting for Trostyanets and, unfortunately, the central part of the city is destroyed.

Humanitarian aid was sent to the city and people who had lost their homes in Trostyanets were evacuated and resettled in Sumy. Provided medical assistance to wounded and sick locals who, due to the occupation and constant shelling, could not get to the hospital.

"As soon as the military gave permission to the civilians, we went there with a humanitarian convoy to the liberated communities. We brought people essential medicines, life-saving medicines, pre-formed food kits, hygiene items, baby food and diapers," noted the head of the UOC.

Generators and fuel, as well as satellite communication Starlink were also delivered to the town. Trostianka should also get a cell phone connection every day. The authorities are tackling the issue of restoring the railway and transport infrastructure. Demining of the territory of the community and search for the bodies of the dead is underway.

Over the past 24 hours, the bodies of two locals were found on the territory of Trostyanets community; traces of torture were found on the body of one of them. Criminal proceedings were opened.

As for the work of the hospital in Trostyanets - it is impossible to restore its work yet because of heavy damage and the possible presence of mines. The patients will be taken to hospitals in Sumy or Akhtyrka.
