Ukraine's Ambassador to Germany criticized Scholz for refusing to come to Kyiv

Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk has criticized German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for refusing to come to Kyiv. This was reported by Spiegel.

"Playing the offended sausage - does not sound very statesmanlike. We are talking about the most brutal war of annihilation since the Nazis attacked Ukraine, this is not kindergarten," Melnyk said.

In mid-April, the Office of the President of Ukraine cancelled the visit of German leader Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Kyiv. The reason was Steinmeier's close ties with Russia over the past years.

After that, Ukrainian Ambassador Andriy Melnyk said that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was invited to Kyiv, with whom the top leadership intends to discuss the prospects of supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine.

However, the chancellor himself said that he did not want to go to Kyiv until President Steinmeier was there.
