Ukrainian President calls on the U.S. to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism

Volodymyr Zelensky called on the United States to officially recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

 

He made this statement during a meeting with U.S. Republican senators in Kyiv, reports the press service of the Office of the President.

 

"I count on the support of the United States to further strengthen sanctions. In addition, we believe that Russia should be officially recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism," - said Zelensky.

 

The president noted the special role of the U.S. in strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia. In particular, he noted the adoption by Congress of laws banning the import of Russian oil and suspending trade relations with Russia and Belarus.

 

Also, according to the President, it is especially important to increase sanctions pressure on the banking sector of the aggressor country.
