SpaceX, owned by the famous billionaire Elon Musk, has signed its first contract with the US Space Force, providing specialized satellite communications for the military under the Starshield program. This was reported by Bloomberg.


This program is focused on the use of satellite communications in low Earth orbit and will be implemented using the existing Starlink satellite network, which, in turn, confirms SpaceX's role in the defense sector.


Currently, SpaceX is actively competing with United Launch Alliance in launching national security payloads.


In particular, in June this year, the company received a contract to provide Starlink satellite communications to the Ukrainian military.
