Ukraine withdrew from another CIS agreement

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to withdraw Ukraine from the Agreement on the Establishment of the Interstate System of Documentary Encrypted Communication of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, reported this in Telegram.

"Ukraine has withdrawn from the Agreement on the Establishment of the Interstate System of Documentary Encrypted Communication of the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed on October 18, 1996, in Moscow," he said.

The agreement also provided for the creation of national subsystems of this system at the expense of the internal resources of each state.

One of the aspects of the agreement was the use of information technology, software and information security provided by the Russian Federation on the basis of bilateral agreements between the members of the Commonwealth. Ukraine's withdrawal from this agreement indicates the country's resolute course in cybersecurity and independence in the field of information exchange.
