The USA is looking for ways to provide emergency military aid to Ukraine - White House

White House adviser John Kirby said that the United States is looking for ways to provide emergency military aid to Ukraine while the House of Representatives delays a vote on extending funding to support Kyiv.

During the last briefing, a representative of the current administration assured that the United States has already taken "some immediate steps."

"You have seen how the Pentagon was able to provide $300 million to support Ukrainian forces in an emergency aid package. We will continue to actively seek out and consider opportunities for further action," the White House official emphasized.

Kirby noted that the US government still has its "hands tied" in this situation, as it needs a law on additional funding.

Answering the question whether there is a "deadline" after which the government will start doing something more to support Ukraine, he noted that this deadline has long since passed when the US President submitted a request to Congress with an aid package.

In addition, the White House adviser added that due to the inaction of the House of Representatives, Ukrainian commanders on the ground have to make difficult decisions on how to conserve ammunition and hold their positions.
