Ukraine faces scheduled power outages due to capacity shortage: details

On April 18, Ukraine may face scheduled power outages. So far, this will affect only industrial consumers, Ukrenergo reports.

It is noted that such outages may occur in all regions of the country between 8:00 and 22:00.

"They will be applied equally to businesses and industrial enterprises in all regions of Ukraine. The scope of restrictions is insignificant. Restrictions will not be applied to critical infrastructure facilities and defense companies," the statement said.

The company explained that such a decision was made due to an increase in electricity consumption due to the cold weather, which led to a capacity shortage. It reminds that the situation was complicated by Russian missile and drone attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.

"We ask all consumers to consume electricity sparingly. And industry - to maximize electricity imports," Ukrenergo added.
