Josep Borrell, the representative of the head of European diplomacy, has released a video greeting for the Independence Day of Ukraine.
"On the occasion of Independence Day, I would like to express my sincere congratulations to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," Borrell said.
He noted that today marks 32 years since Ukraine gained its independence. However, unfortunately, more than nine years have passed since Russia violated Ukraine's territorial sovereignty. For the past 18 months, it has also been waging an aggressive military campaign against Ukraine and its people.
"Every day, Ukrainians bravely stand up for their freedom, independence, democracy and common values that unite us," Borrell said.
"At the same time, Ukraine is actively implementing key reforms and moving towards its membership in the European Union. Ukraine's future depends on it, and we in the European Union stand side by side with Ukraine. The EU stands by Ukraine and will remain by its side as long as necessary. Glory to Ukraine," the head of European diplomacy added.
