Ukraine should be invited to join NATO before the end of the war - Duda

Ukraine's accession to NATO is not possible until the war with Russia is over, but the procedure can be started even at the stage of confrontation. This was stated by Polish President Andrzej Duda following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Davos.

"This is impossible during the war, but I believe that Ukraine should receive an invitation to NATO, which will launch the process of discussing this issue in the national parliaments of the Alliance member states. This process could continue, and it is very important for the morale of Ukraine's defenders," the Polish leader said.

He added that Ukraine "should strive for full membership in NATO" and that Ukraine's future membership is very important for the strength of NATO as a whole and for Poland's security.
