PACE adopts important resolution on Ukrainian children

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has adopted a resolution concerning Ukrainian children. In particular, the resolution calls to recognize the deportation of Ukrainian children by Russia as genocide of the Ukrainian people. This was reported by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko on Telegram.

The resolution was unanimously supported by 85 PACE members.

During the discussion of the resolution, the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska spoke in a video format.

The document defines an important political decision regarding Russia's criminal actions against Ukrainian children and calls on the parliaments of the Council of Europe member states to recognize the deportation of children as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

The resolution also draws attention to the situation of displaced children, calling for increased political and humanitarian support to protect internally displaced children.

The Assembly expresses the need to return children to Ukraine as soon as possible to reduce the influence of the Russian regime on them.

The resolution supported the Bring Kids Back UA initiative and the establishment of the International Coalition of Countries for the Return of Ukrainian Children, and expressed support for the Center for the Protection of Children's Rights, which operates under the supervision of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
