Europe has about 100 Patriot batteries, but cannot give Ukraine 7 of them. This was stated by EU High Representative Josep Borrell.

He said that a few days ago he spoke with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, and he is desperately asking for seven Patriot batteries to protect Ukraine.

"It is impossible to imagine that we will not be able to provide them, given that Western armies have about 100 Patriot batteries. And yet we are not able to provide the seven batteries they are desperately asking for," Borrell said.

The diplomat called on the EU to pay more attention not only to plans to restore Ukraine in the future, but also to prevent its destruction now.

"The Ukrainians don't have the ability to avoid destruction because, frankly, we should have done more and faster to give them the capabilities they need," Borrell said.
