Girls were detained for dancing on the graves of servicemen in Kyiv, - Ministry of Internal Affairs

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two young girls were arrested in Kyiv for dancing on the graves of deceased soldiers.

A video showing the girls dancing at the cemetery was posted on social media yesterday. Law enforcement authorities found out their location and detained them. The girls admitted that their actions were inappropriate and publicly apologized for their behavior.

One of the detainees explained that they were dancing near the grave of their father, who was killed near Izium. She noted that they "knew his attitude to the culture of burial" and did not intend to humiliate the memory of Ukrainian defenders.

However, the girls now face punishment in the form of restriction of liberty or imprisonment for a term of 3 to 5 years for desecrating a burial place.
